Aneurysm Treatments
Aneurysm coiling
A small incision is made in the leg. A Neuroendovascular specialist then navigates a microcatheter into the aneurysm. Soft platinum coils are then placed into the aneurysm. The coils are designed to prevent blood flow into the aneurysm.
Aneurysm clipping
Clipping is a surgical procedure performed to treat an aneurysm. A neurosurgeon places
a small clip across the neck of the aneurysm to stop or prevent an aneurysm from bleeding.
The goal of clipping is to isolate an aneurysm from nearby circulation without blocking off
any perforating arteries nearby.
