Treatment & Procedures
Carotid Endarterectomy
Carotid endarterectomy is a surgical procedure that removes debris from the walls of
the carotid artery resulting in a lower risk of ischemic stroke or transient ischemic
attack (TIA). The artery is opened through a small incision in the neck. Carotid
endarterectomy has a high success rate and has been proven to reduce the risk of a
major debilitating stroke.
