Treatment & Procedures
Endovascular Therapy
Endovascular therapy employs radiology instead of traditional surgical procedures and is
executed within the blood vessel.
Angioplasty and Stenting
Angioplasty is the surgical repair of a blood vessel. Angioplasty can be a non-invasive
procedure where a balloon-tipped catheter is implanted into the obstructed area of the
artery. As the balloon is inflated, the vessel opens furthers allowing for increased
flow of blood.
Patients who are not good candidates for endarterectomy may be recommended for
angioplasty instead.
