Dr. Watson earned both an MD and Ph.D in Physiology at the University of Kansas. He was trained in neurology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He resided as Chief Resident and then as Neuromuscular Fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he obtained an additional year of intensive training in neuromuscular diseases.
Dr. Watson joined the faculty of Johns Hopkins Neurology Department as an Assistant Professor. He was later recruited to Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center as an Associate Professor.
In 1993, Dr. Watson devoted his time to patient care in the private setting. Additionally, Dr. Watson is the author of numerous research articles, clinical papers and textbook chapters.
