Dr. Rajamani is a St. Joseph Mercy Oakland vascular neurologist, Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Wayne State University School of Medicine Department of Neurology and part of the medical school’s Comprehensive Stroke Center since 2005. He did his Neurology residency at the Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center and completed his Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He is ABPN board certified in Neurology as well as in Vascular Neurology, and ASN board certified in Neurosonology. He is currently Program Director of the Vascular Neurology fellowship program at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.
He is a member of the American Stroke Association, American Academy of Neurology and is currently the treasurer of the Michigan Neurological Association. His special interests include carotid and intracranial atherosclerosis, antiphospholipid antibodies and cerebrovascular disorders, stroke prevention strategies and delivery of stroke care by hospital systems. He is currently involved with several stroke prevention trials and is also site principal investigator of some of them. He recently received a grant to study differences in stroke care delivery in hospitals across Michigan.
